Meet Ace & Prince

Founded by stylist, Chloe Forde and former model, Heidi Murray, Ace & Prince is an online boutique with a love for art, design and all things beautiful.

What's the story behind Ace & Prince?

"Heidi and I have known each other for around 15 years growing up in the same part of north London and then working in the same business. Heidi as a model and myself as a stylist. We bonded properly over having children at the same time. My first and Heidi’s second are months apart. After sharing lots of inspiration images on Instagram, we realised we had super similar taste and both had the desire to launch something of our own. We launched initially with the tote bags and have since produced clothing, homewares and kids pieces."

What's the story behind the collaboration?

"After finding Ace & Prince through instagram I fell instantly in love with their bright, fun and unique stripe design bags. I also loved the fact the brand is founded by two incredibly creative woman balancing a successful business whilst raising a young family, it felt like such a great fit with what we are creating here at TBCo as well. Like us they only create products and designs which really inspire them and so we were so excited when they agreed to partner up on this collaboration. Their design aesthetic has translated beautifully into our recycled wool blanket and couples modern design with sustainable warmth, perfectly."

What inspired the design?

"For inspiration, we were all feeling deconstructed tartan vibes. We took one look at the striped tote bag designs and instantly saw a great connection between the two brands that got us thinking- could we deconstruct a traditional tartan that has a nicely proportioned warp pattern to create a really fun stripe design? That is where the design for our collaboration blanket originated. After exploring various tartan setts, we decided to go for the Stewart Tartan but strip it back and make it minimal and effortless by simplifying the number of stripes in the pattern but keeping the proportions of the lines to retain the look of the Stewart Tartan that we all know and love!"

"The limited edition design will be available as a knee blanket, full blanket and water-resistant-backed picnic blanket in our best selling recycled wool. For the colour palette, we wanted to be conscious of waste and overproduction, so we decided to pull together a really contemporary, playful colour palette from our existing stock colours that we use throughout our current collection, and decided to inject some punch with a bold fuchsia pink to set the concept apart from our current TBCo. designs. We loved the way A&P used fine black stripes in their designs to create definition and embolden the surrounding colours."
